On November 30, 2004, HarperCollins will be releasing in hardcover MAGIC TIME - GHOSTLANDS, the third of MARC SCOTT ZICREE's critically-acclaimed MAGIC TIME trilogy, a modern-day fantasy epic in which all the machines in the world stop working and magic comes back.
HarperCollins plans a publicity blitz with advertising, media interviews and signings in tandem with Blackstone Audio, the company releasing the MAGIC TIME books on tape, CD and MP3. Simultaneously, thanks to his extensive background as a writer-producer in film and TV -- Zicree has penned classic episodes of STAR TREK - THE NEXT GENERATION, BABYLON 5, SLIDERS, FRIDAY THE 13TH - THE SERIES and DEEP SPACE NINE - the author is shooting an eye-popping thirty-second trailer for MAGIC TIME full of cutting-edge special effects. In fact, over 30 top FX wizards are lending their talents to this undertaking -- literally one for every second!
Set to film in October and debut online to coincide with the book's release in November, the trailer will depict a climactic scene from MAGIC TIME and be directed by IAIN McCAIG, MAGIC TIME's cover artist. McCaig is no stranger to film, having worked as a designer on the next Harry Potter movie and the three most-recent STAR WARS films, including the forthcoming REVENGE OF THE SITH. Famed for his stunning visual sense, McCaig designed both Darth Maul and Queen Amidala. The MAGIC TIME trailer will debut on McCaig's website and be linked to major sites including HarperCollins, Blackstone Audio, AFTER DARK, and Zicree's own site (www.zicree.com). There will be major press and Internet coverage of the event.
At the same time, Zicree will be appearing on COAST TO COAST, night-time's highest-rated radio show with 10 million listeners, to unveil the book and trailer. He'll be popping up in numerous other media outlets and publications as well, including features on the STARZ cable network and its high definition sister channel. Zicree is also coordinating with HarperCollins for a major in-store end-cap presence promoting MAGIC TIME - GHOSTLANDS in chain bookstores across the country.

ABOUT MARC SCOTT ZICREE
Marc Scott Zicree has over 100 script sales to his name, including numerous credits on
STAR TREK - THE NEXT GENERATION, SLIDERS, DEEP SPACE NINE and BABYLON 5, plus multiple
pilots for NBC, ABC and Showtime. He has written for virtually every major studio and
network, and his work has been nominated for the 2003 Humanitas Prize, Diane Thomas Award, American Book Award and Writers Guild Award.
Zicree served as Executive Producer on REAL STORY, a pilot presentation he wrote and
executive produced in association with OZ's Tom Fontana, starring BUFFY's Armin Shimerman.
In addition, Zicree has served on staff on four series: as Producer on SLIDERS; Co-Producer
on LAZARUS MAN; Executive Story Editor on BEYOND REALITY; and Story Editor on
FRIDAY THE 13TH - THE SERIES. His screenplay work has included stints for New Line, MGM,
Orion, the Jim Henson Company and Davis Entertainment.
