school visits
Ted is available for school, library or organizations for presentations, seminars and
workshops on Surfing the Internet, Make Your Own Web Page, and Creative Writing for Kids.
For more information, send an e-mail note to tap@ix.netcom.com To be computer literate and Internet savvy is no longer an option-not for your students, or yourselves. Ted is the author of Internet For Kids-the book that helped today's kids get online-and Make Your Own Web Page, a guide for kids (and their significant adults) in how to build their own website. He is techno-savvy. Now, in a series of presentations, workshops and classroom visits, Ted is available to dialog with students, teachers and parents about what it means to "grow up digital" and how to succeed in the coming millennium.
I work best with smaller, classroom-size groups. I talk with the students. I do not lecture to them. I answer questions of all kinds, but primarily in the areas of the Internet and creative writing. After all, that's what I can discuss with expertise. My presentation varies depending on the age group. How much do I charge? My fee is $400 per day and for this I will do as many as four classroom presentations or workshops of about an hour each, or a single half-day seminar or workshop for teachers or parents of three hours, with additional question and answer time. Accommodations & Expenses If the location is further than fifty miles from my home I expect travel expenses to be paid, including mileage if I drive, plus fares, meals and lodging. Though I appreciate people's generosity in offering to share their homes, I prefer that arrangements be made at a clean, quiet motel, non-smoking room, please. Reimbursements for travel expenses can be paid later, but I do expect my fee to be paid on delivery of services. Autographing If you wish to order copies of my books, I will be happy to autograph and personalize them. Updated 08.15.2000 |
